Civilian Security

In the upcoming years President Obama will create a new expansion to the Americorps program. This was talked about in 2008 when he was running for President, but the new expansion will eventually evolve into a new type of police that will replace the role of the National Guard. This new federal police will be known as the Civilian Security Guard or CS.

Discussion about the CS can be traced back to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the need for a rapid response arm of the federal government that can act with the authority of the police but whose funding won't be tied to the disaster area. Its purpose was to provide additional support to localities at times of disasters without monopolizing resources already being used on the state or district level. While President Obama will authorize the expansion of Americorps, it won't take on this new identity until the next president.

The Civilian Security will be a mandatory service for every citizen ages 18-24 and will last two years. It will take place either after graduation from high school or college and will be designed for people to get training for law enforcement, criminal justice, military, or a number of other careers in technical, vocational or clerical lines of work while serving their country. Everyone who is successful in the CS will either receive college credit, college scholarships or grants to repay college loans.

While the new mandatory service was initially met with protest from both parties and the general public, soon after its creation a need arose which solidified its presence and funding. Eventually it had many other benefits such as lowering unemployment, boosting American commercial competitiveness and oddly, election turnout. The CS also played an instrumental role in improving border security, illegal immigration and urban violence.

  1. Now, I'm not totally skeptic on this. But I am sort of skeptic, I like to believe that people from the future -will- visit us, to warn us or something. But then, this is also the internet, your facts could be opinions based upon the already spoken things over the last few months. And you also don't have many viewers of your blog...

Now, I understand the risks of giving information about the future vs letting time go as it's meant to go..But I'm curious.. Are there any records of 2012 and what is to come with it?

  2. Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but I'm not here to warn you about some impending crisis and how to avoid it. The reason being is that while the event may be devastating, a warning could affect property values, company investiture or political/social reactions.

I have to admit that I don't have many viewers because it’s both new and not customized to internet search engines. If you would like to share this blog with others, please do so.

Now, about 2012. This is something that I can see around the internet as being something many people are concerned about. The reality is that nothing extraordinary happens. Other than some doomsday zealots, there isn't any record of anything special. I'll see if I can speak more to this.

  3. Really? Hm.. Now, don't take this the wrong way; as I'm a high time travel enthusiast, been interested in it from the time I started reading and writing..But how can you "See" if you can speak more to my question? I thought you were alone in this journey? Or did I just assume it? Also, are you aware of the fact that even though you're trying not to change the future your prescence can highly impact the world, and change the future?

Each path leads to different fates. The only truth, is how those fates intertwine and -how- the inevitable comes. Time is like the thread of a garment or upholstery. Each tiny thread connects to create a shirt, pants, etc. In hindsight, your future could very well be the same as ours, or it could be different. Alternate timelines happen when one makes a choice. Each choice has an impact. Each impact can change the course of time.

Now, I want to believe you are from the future. I do. I -really- do. But at the same time, I have to think, is this a joke? The internet is a wide, complex place of freedoms one could only dream of ever gaining in reality. I could say I'm from the year 2132, come up with all sorts of information, 'cause I'm a writer and that's my prerogative.

It doesn't necessarily mean it's true. But, the fact that you are from a believable date, which is only 55 years from now leads me to believe that you are infact from the future. However, as stated before there's always that hint of skeptism. Like with religion, psychics, and the supernatural.

The one way you can get one to believe, is by doing the one thing you truly cannot. And that's give direct information about the future. So it's an oxi-moron in a sense. So there's really nothing I can do, or say. Nor can you. You know? XD

(Incase you're unsure, XD is a emoticon that indicates laughter. I'm sure you know some of the net-based lingo too, in your scouring of the 2009 internet.)

  4. Very interesting perspective of how time works, and while I'm not a scientist, it has been explained to me that time is less like shirt and more like a river. While each drop of water in the river comes from its own place, it joins the "flowing" social, economic and political forces that are present in any time period.

The problem arises not with a single person changing small things, because that won't make a difference of how the river of time flows. The major concern that my bosses have is with accidently divulging knowledge that would take an ordinary person and allow them to become extraordinary.

For instance, if I were reveal the two companies that will successfully create the technology for sensory learning (or time travel for that matter), then it would allow a person to become very wealthy and thus change certain political or economic events.

I don't doubt that you won't be entirely convinced, in fact, part of our training suggests that we shouldn't even reveal ourselves as time travelers, be we are free to do so if we wish.

  5. Yeah, that was a bit of a bad representation on my part. I was just telling a friend of mine time can also be seen like a blanket. Each thread going different ways to create the blanket. The blanket being time and it's eternal flow. And at some point, the blanket has to -stop- thus the end of times, and the universe. But that will be long after both of our times.

Anyway, there are so many questions I wish I could ask. About my future(although, I doubt you'd know anything about a single person.), and about the future of those around me. It sounds selfish, I know... But it's something that's always intrigued me. Despite the consequences.

I also watched one of the videos you have on your youtube, and I believe that Texas could infact succeed from the union. Especially since you speak of this republic as being the second republic. Which implies that your future is on it's third or fourth.

Which is funny, actually. I started writing a story about a Modern Civil war, if Bush had remained president due to some suspicious circumstances when Obama was to be elected. I never finished it, and should go back to writing it, even if it means re-writing everything. The CS that you also spoke of is interesting too. Because it fits. Especially if there's a second Civil War on the horizon.

I also like the fact of it being mandatory, however, there are consequences to that as well. The street gangs and such would probably become more strategic and militant... But then the discipline could counter that. So it's still probable.

Though, going a little off topic: I have to ask, aren't you afraid of someone discovering your true identity and hunting you down? If you even exist yet?

  6. First of all, you're right, I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about your own future even if I knew.

Secondly, we are in the third republic, but we call it the "New Republic". We have a different constitution than you do. Ours puts more authority in the executive branch than yours. It also limits individual rights. While there are these differences, the applications of yours versus ours is very minimal.

Next, the CS actually plays a very big part in eliminating gangs on two fronts. First, it requires individuals that would normally be in gangs to be in the CS. Then the CS is also used to quell the gangs. By my time, there are some gangs, but they are very small.

Lastly, if I understand your question correctly, I'm not born yet. I'm going to be born in 2033. I know that my profile says that I'm 64, but that's because it wouldn't accept the year 2033. I picked 64 because I came from the year 2064. Also, I'm not too worried about people finding me out. I've got a pretty ordinary life here.

  7. I see. Interesting. So, I have to ask, do things like human cloning, and robots(akin to Star Wars, a movie from the mid-70s to early-80s(Original Trilogy),and it's prequels 1999, 2002, and 2005(New Trilogy))?

I know, it's a silly question to ask. But I'm curious, as you are of this era. I also have to ask, how do you travel between years to report your findings? And have you discovered the use for Instant Messaging?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Well, again, I'm not a scientist, so I can just speak to it as a historian. In about 10 years, human cloning will be done, but with bad results. The clones had short lives due to brain development problems and after a few years it was halted from public outrage.

As for robots, we don't have them - sorry to disappoint. We don't even have flying cars.

About time travel, that's a tricky thing. We have this device that creates a temporal disruption by frame-dragging regular space and time which is formed along the lines of string theory. Imagine swirling speghetti with a fork and each noodle is a strand of space-time. The device allows things (or people) to jump from one noodle to the next.

That's how I got here and how I send my reports back. I hope that's clear enough for you. I only had two weeks on Temporal Physics as part of my training for this job.
